Dutton/Brady Track Roundup

The Diamondback Track team was busy in April. Keep reading for results from three meets in April in Big Fork, Rocky Boy and Stanford.

On April 12, 2008 The Diamondback Track team woke up bright and early to compete in their first track meet at Big Fork. The athletes arrived to find strong competition and a track that over looked the gorgeous Flathead Lake. Garet Johnson placed in the novice division for discus. For the girls Breanna Dahlman received a 5th place finish in shot put. Carissa Storle finished 2nd in the 100 M and 1st in the 200 M, 400 M, and 800 M. The girl’s team also placed 6th in the 400 M Relay – Traci Brumwell, Carissa Storle, Ashley Thom, and Breanna Dahlman. The coaches were happy with the outcome of the first track meet.


On April 16, 2008 the Cal Wearley and Rocky Boy Invitational Meets were rescheduled. The Diamondback Lady Track team scored 32 points and placed 8th out of the twenty teams that participated.

Shot Put 5th Breanna Dahlman- 30’9”
200 M 2nd Carissa Storle- 27.7
400 M 1st Carissa Storle- 64.8
800 M 1st Carissa Storle- 2:33.6
400 M Relay 4th Breanna Dahlman, Ashley Thom, Carissa Storle, and Ellie Duty- 55.5

Despite the bitter wind several athletes performed their personal bests in the following events:

800 M Kyler Johnson- 2:21.9
200 M Cody Sheldon- 26.39, Clinton Habel- 27.55
1600 M Kyler Johnson- 5:35
Discus Logan Rossmiller- 85’6”
Javelin Garet Johnson-114’8”


On April 18, 2008 The Diamondback Track team went to Stanford. Many athletes were not able to attend the because of District Musical and decorating from prom. Ten Teams competed at the meet. The boy’s placed 7th and the girl’s placed 6th. Garet Johnson placed first in Discus and 3rd in Shot Put. Carissa Storle placed 1st in the 100 M, 200 M, 400 M, and 800 M. Coach Tom Tranmer said “I was really happy with how the kids did today. It was windy and cold but they stuck with it.” The athletes did not get the throws or times they may have wanted but compensated nicely with the weather conditions.
